[MEncoder-users] "selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec"

Greetings fellow mplayer/mencoder users!

My company recently purchased some software that makes use of mplayer
and mencoder. Sadly, when the software runs it fails to produce the
expected output. It's purpose is to generate .flv format files, but it
generates zero size files and fails with the error "The selected
video_out device is incompatible with this codec"

I'm going to go ahead and paste in the full command and full error
output. Any insight would be so greatly appreciated. Any thoughts
anyone? What can I do/read that will point me towards a solution?
