[MEncoder-users] MPEG2 aspect 2 or 3

Dear List,

Running mencoder it writes some information to the screen. There is one like:

„VIDEO: MPEG2 720x576 (aspect 3) 25.000 fps …"
... or ...
„VIDEO: MPEG2 720x576 (aspect 2) 25.000 fps …"

Can somebody explain what is the difference? Is it the DAR flag
(anamorphic scaling)? I suppouse aspect 3 can be the 16:9 DAR flag. Am
I right?
