I have captured some of my old video8 video material to my PC via
mencoder tv:// -tv
driver=v4l2:norm=pal:input=1:fps=25:alsa:amode=1:audiorate=48000:width=768:h
eight=576
-oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=huffyuv:format=422p:acodec=mp2:abitrate=224"
everything fine so far. (I got about 8-10 skipped frames for one hour of
video material).
Now it is where everything goes bad :-( I am trying to convert this material
to some format that needs less space.
mencoder -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video -o out.mpg in.avi
gives me a skipped frame every 10 frames.
To do the work I have used MEncoder dev-SVN-rUNKNOWN-4.1.2 on Gentoo.
Is there anything obvious that I have done wrong? I have even tried this on
an AMD and an Pentium4 machine. I have also
tried using ac3 as an audio codec without any difference.
Regards,
Manuel
